What is a financial workspace?

Why BUFI organizes invoices, payroll, transfers and cards around the team, client or project they belong to, instead of around the bank account they came from.

A paid BUFI invoice next to its printed receipt

Most finance tools are organized around where money sits: a bank account, a card program, a payroll provider. Teams are organized around something else entirely: clients, projects, entities and the people responsible for them.

The gap between those two shapes is where the month-end scramble lives. Someone rebuilds the picture from portals and spreadsheets, asks three people for the latest version, and hopes the approval trail survived the chat thread it was given in.

#A workspace is the unit of work, not the unit of storage

A BUFI workspace is a financial operating environment for a team, client, project or business unit. It keeps money, roles, invoices, cards, transfers and activity organized around the work they belong to.

Invoices living inside the workspace they belong to.

That changes three everyday questions:

  • What is the status? It is viewed in the workspace where the activity happened, not reconstructed after the fact.
  • Who approved this? Approvals are prepared with the owner, the amount and the context together.
  • Where is the receipt? Documents stay attached to the invoice, transfer or payroll run they support.

#Built for people who live between countries

Agencies, studios, distributed teams and founders coordinate money across people, currencies and tools. BUFI supports cross-border operating workflows and USDC-ready balances for eligible workspaces.

Availability

Limits, supported rails and onboarding requirements depend on the account and region. BUFI is a financial operations layer, not a bank.

#People stay in charge

Bu, the BUFI assistant, surfaces financial context and prepares work. Sensitive actions such as payments and payroll are reviewed and approved by the people responsible for them.
