A new home for BUFI

A rebuilt website in twelve languages, live demos you can touch instead of screenshots, a note on how it was made, and this blog, where every feature gets its own announcement.

Financial Workspaces for Global Teams. The new BUFI website.

BUFI has a new website. It had one job: show the product the way it actually feels to use, to the people it is built for, in the language they think in.

#Touch it, do not read about it

Most finance sites show you a screenshot and ask you to imagine the rest. Ours is made of working pieces of the product. The workspace window in the hero is the real workspace layout. The AI section lets you open Bu's sheet, flick through the control menu and drag the dynamic island around. The workspaces card builds its own tree in front of you as you grow from one team to several.

None of it touches real money. All of it behaves the way the app does.

#Twelve languages from day one

English, Spanish, Portuguese, French, German, Italian, Dutch, Turkish, Indonesian, Japanese, Korean and Chinese. We build for people who live between countries, so the site meets them in their own language instead of making them translate a pitch about borderless money.

#A blog with an announcement per feature

From now on every feature, every new asset and every partner gets its own post here, with its own film where we have one. A feature reaches everyone only after it works end to end on the beta environment, so this blog doubles as the record of what is actually live.

#How it was made

We built this site the way a studio builds an Awwwards entry: one scene at a time, where every movement has to earn its place.

  • Scroll as the storyteller. Sections reveal, pin in place and hand off to each other as you move down the page, so the story keeps pace with you instead of arriving all at once.
  • The silk. The soft, moving fabric behind our banners is the same animated background people see when they sign in to BUFI, drawn live in your browser.
  • Small things that answer back. Layers drift with your cursor, Bu's speech bubble can be dragged anywhere, and the coins spin. Turn on reduced motion and everything holds still.

#Thank you, basement

None of this would exist without basement.studio and their open-source scrollytelling library, the toolkit behind the way this page moves as you scroll, and without the GSAP team, whose animation engine drives it. Thank you as well to the people behind Motion and three.js, and to everyone who shares their creative work in the open.

basement means more to us than a library. Their work is a big part of why our founder moved to Buenos Aires in 2024: back then the city was home to some of the best creative JavaScript developers in the world, and we wanted to build next to them. This site is our thank-you note.

#And a radio

The site has a sound toggle and BUFI Radio, our own lo-fi station, for anyone who wants a soundtrack while they read about treasuries. Everything is off until you turn it on.

Where it runs

BUFI is live on Arc and Avalanche. The product itself is at app.bu.finance.
